New Script - In Progress

Hey David, I broke down the scenes a bit more, i think it makes more sense. Couple of things may not be quite right. I thought he needed a reason for him to smack into the rock so i added the eagle shadow. Let me know if you want me to change anything, i couldnt make out also how the marmot steals the food, so i hope i got that right??

Character Sheets/Designs For Presentation

This Is what i was thinking to put in our presentation.... Let me know if you want it changed

Colour script/boards

Hey David, i think if we have something like this to show would be cool, this is from last years polished off. Maybe we could do something similar, what u think?

Environment test render

Just a quick mock up but you can see where its going.

HI guys heres some interesting art.

When it comes to the render tests we can really experimen To match styles.

Get to HMV in the snow and buy mongol lol

Initial Test renders

I know these are nothing special but its a toon shader I downloaded that I thought I would play with there is alot of control with the setting so its worth a look at.

http://www.the-area.com/downloads/shaders?word=toon&where=1&software=&material=

Here are some test using shadows and global ilumination.. I think we may have some issues When it comes to shadows

All individuals will present their own contributions to the group process and an account of what they will be working on over the rest of the year.

If you need any further guidance from staff please mail me and either Dan and we will arrange an appointment to meet.

 Specific Tasks

Creating an establishing shot for the environment. So we can really sell our selves in the pitch.

  • Things to consider
  • Schale
  • Whats in the scene?
  • 3 mountains,  grass , hut man and tree stump but you can barely see it fire clouds sky some small forest trees
Please check out these videos - http://groupblogba.blogspot.com/2010/11/strange-but-beautiful.html  Especially the winter Olympics the time is 40 secs perfect reference.

Ill link you to the page with the concept design, excluding that weird little thing in the foreground bottom left of screen. Ill replace that with pretty flowers.

    Strange but beautiful

Awsome and what a great reference for the forest

Are film Is Mulan On crack

Concept not FInished More Oriental In style

I'm sure It will Be Tricky Trying to Create a style of painted 3.d Environment.

I'm sure we can do it.

    A wee bit more

    Rigging and Expressions

Ok carrying on with the rigging, I created the blendshapes for the character then realised he doesnt have eyebrows so couldn't do the expressions for the eyes :/

So I loaded the version which did and used the tutorial's shapes to create the blendshapes. They all work yay :)

My next stage is to make the eyes able to close and also make the eyes move.

After rigging for a while I moved onto creating the expressions... I started with Moom but I don't think he is very good for expressions really.

So I downloaded this rig from Creative Crash, which looks much better. So here are some expressions based on the images we took, although I would like some more to get a range.

This rig doesnt just have the blend shape sliders, so I need to know if people want to just use the sliders or would we like controls like this, I will look into it anyway just need to know for the final rigs how people prefer to animate.

    Crash Bandicoot Chases

The second video in particular is great reference for the shots where it is infront of the Marmot. The sense of danger comes from jumping gapss and dodging things in the landscape, which could be rocks or trees in the case of the Marmot.

    Concept

    far to realistic

Im trying a cartoony one now

    Fumiko chase

Its 2.D but some of the environment is 3.D

I believe are film has to have this level of insanity lol

    New Story Boards

Same concept just adds a sense of danger and comedy.

    Breakdown of story.

Man is about to eat, marmot steals it.
The chase begins a hill shows them rushing past.
The man smashes into a rock eventually tumbling over it.marmot dives round it.
A wheel barrow lays waiting, the man smashes into it while the marmot jumps over it.
next scene the wheel of the wheel barrow lay stuck to his bottom of his feet so he gains momentum.
he passes through the forest at great speed the marmot is in reach, the wheels have fallen from his feet.
just as he is about to snatch the marmot Eagle flys in and grabs the marmot.
he drops down looks at the tree branches and the final scene is of him about to jump and try to fly after his meal.
